Agent Michael Mason, Retired FBI
Until his retirement Agent Michael Mason was the 4th highest agent in the FBI. One half of all operational resources fell under his responsibility. He was in charge of overseeing all-criminal investigations. After a long storied career with the “Agency” he now drives a school bus for the Chesterfield County Public school district in Virginia. When he discovered how the shortage of drivers in the district was affecting the students’ ability to get to and from school, stranding some on days when the driver count was low, he felt he had to step up. It wasn’t what he envisioned for his retirement but the same sense of duty he had while working for the FBI inspired him to offer his services to drive a bus. "I believe if all of us gave a little something, Wow, how we could impact this world… How we could change this world!"
Mason goes on to say he hopes his new career will allow others to understand that “good work…important work…comes in all forms”. It’s easy to credit those holding jobs with status and high salaries to being the driving force in society, but as he says, “ All jobs are important. We all contribute stones to build the cathedral.“ Michael donates most of his driver’s salary to various charities hoping to have an even larger impact. We acknowledge this generous man as a PB Star in hopes that others will be driven to give back in the same way. He’s right…Oh, the changes we could make…the impact we could have!
